TECHNICAL CERTIFICATION IN INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

TCICT is a skill program designed for students to empower and enlighten then in the diverse field of ICT. The course has also been merged with a number of activities: life skills, communication skills and internship.

TCICT COURSE GUIDE

The course has three levels: END USER LEVEL

                                             : TECHNICAL LEVEL

                                             : EMPLOYABILITY SKILL LEVEL.

END USER LEVEL

LEVEL 1	END USER CERTIFICATION
UNIT 100	Introduction to computers
UNIT 200	Operating system and system application software
UNIT 300	Microsoft office suite( packages)
UNIT 400	Printing, scanning and lamination
UNIT 500	Computer numbering system 1and 2
UNIT 600	Google App,cloud storage, internet and e-mailing
UNIT 700	Networking and Data recovery 1

 

End User Certification has 7 units and students will be trained and examined in all units and a certificate issued. This course will prepare the students to understand laptops, desktops, and smartphones and tablets how to operate, and troubleshoot. Students with this certification are able to work as: Receptionists (Front Desk), cyber attendants, office clerks and computer operators.

TECHNICAL LEVEL

This level has a deeper technical understanding of ICT which has a technical and more practical approach. Students who complete this level will be awarded with two certificates. The course equips students with abilities to perform maintenance, troubleshooting and ethical hacking. Students who completes this course are well equipped to maintain computers as technicians, work in internet companies as technicians and start their private practice in CCTV installation among other technical oriented projects.

UNIT 701	Networking II ( FIBRE OPTIC,POINT TO POINT, ETHENET)
UNIT 800	Basic electricity
UNIT  900	Hardware maintenance II (Desktops, laptops, mobile devices)
UNIT 201	Operating system installation and troubleshooting
UNIT 202	Ethical hacking
UNIT 702	CCTV installation and management.

 

NB: STUDENTS UNDERTAKING TECHNICAL LEVEL WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY A PRACTICAL FEE AND EXAM OF 500/- FOR EACH UNIT OF PRACTICAL.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND LIFE SKILLS

These are free classes that will be conducted to students. They will be trained in online marketing, letter writing, CV writing, Basics of first aid among other soft skills.
